As usual, I have included a list of songs that were significant to us on this trip. I believe I have mentioned that we are XM subscribers, but this trip was taken by plan and rental car. One of the best perks of an XM account is that once you activate one radio, you can download that app for free. This comes in really handy, especially when you are driving in areas with limited radio station options. All I had to do was link my phone to the rental, we could listen to satellite radio the whole trip. The only difficulty with this is that northern Minnesota does not having amazing cell surface, so we rarely changed the channel. If you notice that most of the songs on this playlist are similar in genre, that is why.
- Beautiful Day – U2
- Yes, another U2 song starts off the list, but the U2 channel and PopRocks were the only two we used on this trip, so no surprise.
- Mr. Jones – Counting Crows
- Stacy’s Mom – Fountains of Wayne
- I am not sure if it is inappropriate that my 8 year old loves this song, but when we hear it, the whole family sings.
- 1985 – Bowling For Soup
- A very similar song, thematically, to #2, but one which my wife prefers.
- 6th Avenue Heartache – The Wallflowers
- Bad Day – Daniel Powter
- We didn’t have one on this trip, but it is still a fun song.
- Thunder – Imagine Dragons
- We actually heard an instrumental version of this song in one of the restaurants, which I found surprisingly engaging.
- Accidentally in Love – Counting Crows
- Not the greatest Counting Crows song, lyrically speaking, but a fun one to which to drive.
- The Way – Fastball
- Like #8, this is a great driving song.
- I Hope – Gabby Barrett
- The one top 40 song that made this list.
- Drops of Jupiter – Train
